The Preeminent Foreign Policy Textbook
By John Jefferson
Bailey exhaustively details diplomacy and foreign policy issues throughout the history of the United States up until the latest years included in each edition. Most university history professors or fellow authors, as well as Bailey himself, consider this the most important work of his literary career. Bailey chronicles the research, writing, and difficulty in finding a publisher for this book in his autobiography, The American Pageant Revisited. The average reader may be overwhelmed with using this daunting volume in a one semester university-level Foreign Policy or Diplomacy course. However, this work is second to none in terms of quality and detail, which make it a highly-sought, highly-used work in such situations. Students as well as instructors may wish to supplement this, or even use this as a supplement, with Thomas Patterson's two-volume American Foreign Policy or the memoirs or official biographies of any relevant figures, especially modern figures such as Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon. More advanced or more interested students may wish to follow up on the sources Bailey uses to comprise the bulk of his narrative. Nonetheless, this remains a seminal and irreplaceable work for use in the classroom, in research papers or as the groundwork for a book on foreign policy or diplomatic concerns.

Overview of American Foreign Policy
By Robert Salmon
An outstanding historical overview of American foreign policy and individual Secretaries of State and the presidential policies they worked from (or at cross purposes with). Easy-to-read, it is written for the layman, not the academic.
I learned things I'd never heard of before, such as the fact that the United States once had troops occupying part of Russia! During the intervention of 1918, Europeans and America went in to support the White Russians and help quell the chaos during the early Russian Revolution.
Also that in early American history our relationship with Canada was anything but friendly. There were shooting incidents between Americans and Canadians partly over border disputes and partly over Canadian fears of American invasion.

Condition of product
By fah
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase since the content of the 10th edition of this book was the purpose of the purchase. I first read the book as a college student in the early 1960's and it literally opened my eyes to how our country evolved. I recently rediscoverd the book and purchased this particular edition as a refresher and update through the Vietnam War and the 1980's. Bailey's book is essential for anyone's personal library, as it is perhaps the best-researched analysis of the real making of american history (not newspaper headlines or a biased agendized version). Bailey documents the diplomatic (closed-door) dealings that formed and developed this country which is critical in understanding what is happening today.
Unfortunately, the condition of the book I purchased was a little disappointing and distracting since whoever (probably a young student) used the book was very sloppy and abused his broad-tipped red magic marker for underlining and emphansizing his interests and dissatisfactions. Worse, the binding is partially detached making the volume fragile. I believe that I would have listed the condition as marginally acceptable or poor.

This might be the best motivational book in the last ten years! You simply CAN'T read this and not be BETTER!
By Craig Daliessio
Okay, I’m up at 5 AM writing a book review.
Why?
Because I love this book!
Terry’s book is a wonder. I don’t say that lightly, I say it because it’s true. I love really good motivational reading. The problem is there isn’t much of it. Oh there’s a lot of motivational speakers and authors, but most of them are carnie hucksters who hope to get rich selling you a book that tells you how to get rich. “Buy my book and you’ll be a millionaire!” If the secret was so simple…they’d be so wealthy they wouldn’t need to sell the book. After filtering it down, I found myself only really listening to three motivators; Zig Zigler, whom I was fortunate enough to have gotten to know and count as a friend. Keith Harrell, who also became a friend and who inspired me greatly in my mortgage career, and Dr. Steven Covey.
The rest are all the same to me. Guys who spit out a lot of words that rhyme with “achieve and believe” and who repel down from the ceiling with loud music playing. Guys who pump you up and then let you down.
That’s why I was so happy that Terry wrote this book. “Better” really is what the title tells us…it’s “self-help for the rest of us.” It’s things you can do right now, not after you’ve made it, or next week, or January 1. It’s achievable goals that stack up until you suddenly look around and say “Dang son! I’m better!”
I started reading as soon as Terry sent me a copy. I thought I’d read a few pages and then get to it that weekend. Thirty minutes later, I’m on page 84, and I couldn’t stop.
It’s that good.
Maybe it’s because I watched this whole transformation. Maybe it’s because I happen to know the author. Yeah it’s some of that. But it’s mostly because there was simply not one page in this volume that didn’t have something useful, practical, and do-able on it.
Terry’s premise is disarmingly simple. So simple that it’s the one thing modern motivators miss… “Just be better.” The greatest motivator of all time knew it. Zig said this all the time… “You have to think before you can do, you have to do before you can have.” Think. Do. Have. Start now. Terry outlines how he lost the weight, changed his outlook, grew his business, became a better dad and husband and friend…and a better man. He did it with little bites. He changed little things. He didn’t get up and decide one day to train for a marathon. He got up one day and decided that his last drink was, in fact, his last drink. He decided that the weight on the scale was as heavy as he would ever be again in this life, and if he never lost a pound, as long as he didn’t gain one more, he’d reached the first goal. He walked to the end of the driveway. Then around the block. Then he ran.
The marathons came later.
Terry is honest in this book. Honest, but always funny. He will inspire you. I swear to you…on every page was something I needed to write down. Something I could do right now, that was going to make me better.
Better.
That’s really what we want, right? I want to be a better employee today than I was yesterday. I want to be a better dad, a better friend, a better man.
Terry shows the way in this book. His story is inspiring because he did it, and because he is just like you and I. If Terry can do this, I know I can.
What Terry’s book offers, is hope.
“Hope is a dangerous thing,” as Red Redding said in Shawshank Redemption. In his case it was dangerous because giving a man hope when he can do nothing with it, is cruelty. But giving a man hope and then turning him loose to see what he can do is power. It seemed like every sentence I read gave me hope. (And I’m a hopeful, positive guy as it is) The one phrase that kept running through my mind was “I can do that!” or “Yeah, I can do this!” I can be better at this aspect and that aspect and this thing over here and that thing I’m not better at just yet.
I was walking down the hall at work the next morning, thinking of things in my job that I was going to do better that day. The next morning. Not the next Monday or January 1 or my next birthday.
Terry hit the bullseye with this book. I’m telling you…and I’m not kidding…if you read this, you will find something in it that will excite you, inspire you, give you a fresh dream, and make you better, too.
The book is “Better: Self Help for the Rest of Us”
Five stars, and three cheers for Terry Lancaster!

A must read easy to follow self-help book!
By Yvi MC
I really, really liked this book. I enjoy reading self-help books because it always helps me to refocus on making myself a better me, and this book did not disappoint. What I love most about this book is how down to earth it is! The author is a guy who has plenty of self-admitted flaws, and he owns them proudly because he knows that he is good even flawed, BUT he can be a better him with minor adjustments. I love that! So many self-help books focus on what is wrong with you and how if you do all of these complicated steps, you can fix yourself. This book pretty much says that you are okay as you are, but there is a slightly better you waiting around the corner if you want to focus on doing just one thing differently.

This book gives realistic, small step advice in real world terms for the average person. He uses humor to lower your resistance to new ideas. He shares his own real life examples of struggles and set backs and successes. He uses analogies/comparisons that make sense. His advice is for the everyday, busy person who can't fit an extra hour of anything into their already crammed day. And I LOVE that he puts the lessons to be learned in BOLD face, separated from the rest of the text. I'm tempted to take pictures of those phrases and use them as my screen saver. :-D

And probably best of all, he has a web site completely dedicated to helping each of us become a better person. To me, this is a must read for everyone. It's quick and easy to understand, and you will come away wanting to focus on just one part of your that you want to make better. And we can all work on something. ;-)

Like many, I’d reached a point where I’d read ...
By Mr. Gary
Like many, I’d reached a point where I’d read enough self-help, and I’d pretty much heard it all. I tried Better! Because I kept hearing good things, and I liked the concept—not GREAT, just BETTER. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I actually did adjust my attitudes, and I found myself uncharacteristically motivated by Terry Lancaster’s words. And I really like the concept, as he puts it: “You don’t need perfection to live a better life. You can be healthier… happier… more prosperous.” Even if it’s just a bit here, something there, reasonable goals, doable steps, we can all find many ways every day to be better. Terry quotes a song: “Anything can happen. Anything happens all the time.” It doesn’t have to be everything—just anything.

This is an enjoyable read, with slightly bawdy but real language, broken into chewable bites with bold-faced headers and action steps, punctuated with jokes and quotes and anecdotes to the point of entertainment that’s making its point. Terry gets into lifestyle, exercise & health, weight, relationships, career—the usual areas where most of us know we could do a bit better. What makes this work is his empathy. He gets it, and he gets us. He’s not crowing about all the ways he’s succeeded, just being a friend talking about the ways he’s feeling good about being better, gently nudging us toward feeling the same kind of good.

This is a quick, easy, fun read; and I can’t imagine anyone going through it all and saying nothing there offered anything new, that the examples weren’t poignant, that not a whit of motivation came from it. No, instead of leaving us feeling bad about our failings, it’s uplifting, a shot of what-the-hey, surely we can accomplish something. I give this book my highest recommendation. Reading it will leave you-- whether a little or a lot—that much better.

Awesome Cheat Sheets for Work/School
By Marine_Wifey
I had purchased this as a quick referral guide for a current and upcoming classes, and for my job as a medical admin asst. I love that they are laminated, and have helped me so far both in and out of the classroom, and work...

I have purchased 13 of these medical related inserts:

Medical Terminology:The Basics
Medical Terminology: The Body
Anatomy Terminology
Medical Abbreviations & Acronyms
Muscular System
Joints & Ligaments
Medical Coding: ICD -9 & ICD -10 CM
Skeletal System
Medical Coding
Muscular Origins & Insertions
Spanish Medical Conversation
Evaluation & Management (E/M) Coding Calculator
Digestive System

I had basically grown up, and had decided to move into the medical customer service/administrative assistant side, so I needed help without having to tug heavy textbooks around... I purchased these in 2013, it is now 2016 and they still look brand new like if I had purchased them just yesterday... I highly recommend to anyone just starting out in this field, and would like a cheat sheet if you will to have handy without having to search all over the internet, your phone, textbooks, and etc... Although I do recommend that you search to make sure if any newly updated inserts have come out...

By Avid Reader
This was helpful in the medical terminology class I bought it for BUT: Medical Terminology The Body was actually more helpful. The other quick study was just better organized for A&P & even the Med Term class. But don't think this isn't a good index, it is. Its just that the first couple pages cover material that I don't really need. Ie: the sections on numerical values or colors or pathogens (not as helpful as it sounds). The small sections on surgical procedures & diagnostic procedures were helpful but basically the entire first 1&1/3 pages were minimally helpful & sometimes even at odds with the word roots we learned/used. The last 2 & 1/3 page glossary was great. There's also a section on Snyonyms that made my flash cards much easier to remember after I studied that section for a little while.

Basically, you may want to buy both this quickstudy & Medical Terminology: The Body as long as you understand there will be significant duplication. Keep both or whichever one suits your needs best. Both ran under $10 total here on Amazon. If you can only buy one(mind you, I'm still recommending buying both), I'd probably recommend the other one for those of you taking Medical Term., Human A&P 1, Human A&P2. Good luck with your classes!

Doctor Strange Omnibus Vol. 1, by Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, Roy Thomas, Dennis O'Neil

A vain man driven by greed and hubris, Dr. Stephen Strange was a world-renowned surgeon until the night a car accident crippled his hands. Broken and destitute, he journeyed to Tibet to seek a cure from a legendary healer. He found not a man of medicine but the venerable Ancient One and the path to the mystic arts! Stan Lee and Steve Ditko reinvented the super hero with the Amazing Spider-Man, but from Dr. Strange's eerie house on a Greenwich Village corner they created new dimensions and otherworldly terrors. These stories remain as influential today as they were on 1960s' counter-culture. Marvel is proud to offer this Omnibus collection of the complete Lee/Ditko Doctor Strange run.

A book long dreamed of!
By L. W. Swint
Doctor Steven Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts and Sorcerer Supreme of the material realm called Earth, is not the average Marvel superhero. He wasn't irradiated by cosmic rays during a daring space flight along with four friends who were forever changed into super beings. He wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider and given arachnid-inspired abilities. Nor was he born a so-called homo-superior, a mutant hi-breed of humanity, blessed or cursed with unique powers often feared by mankind. No, Steven Strange's amazing abilities were achieved by hard work, disciplined training, sacrifice and a degree of humility. While a true defender of the innocent and a guardian of the light of truth, Doctor Strange stands removed from the everyday ambitions of mortal men seeking personal power. The threats he faces tend to be more otherworldly in the supernatural sense but no less cosmic in scope. Thus, his status as a member of the superhero community seems sometimes tenuous. But make no mistake. When the great evils the Mystic Master combats endanger the world of the superhero, his courageous comrades are always grateful they have Doctor Strange by their side to aid them in defeating these deadly enemies.

As a comic book character, Doctor Strange has never been the most popular of heroes. His comics have never been top sellers. But in his more than 5 decades of imaginative existence, this supreme sorcerer has always been one of the most unique creations in the Marvel Universe. He is also one of the most demanding and challenging, for fable chronicler and fan alike. Doctor Strange has best succeeded as a comic when he is interpreted by extremely talented comic creators, writers and artists that understand the distinctive foundation of the character and his special place in the world and universes of Marvel superheroes.

Doctor Strange is my all-time favorite Marvel Comics character.

And the core of the Master of the Mystic Art's foundation can be found in this most eagerly awaited tome, the "Doctor Strange Omnibus," an extra special book that collects the complete adventures of the oracle of the otherworldly as envisioned by his creators, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. While the majority of these stories have previously been reprinted in the black and white trade paperback, Essential Doctor Strange, Vol. 1 (Marvel Essentials) (v. 1), first published in 2001, this book marks the first time the good Doctor's premiere exploits have been compiled in a full color, hardcover archival volume. Specifically, this book contains stories from "Strange Tales" #110, 111, 114-146, and the special tale, "The Wondrous World of Dr. Strange," from the second "Spider-man Annual," published in 1965. A single tome that finally contains all of Steve Ditko's influential work on Doctor Strange...

...by the Vishanti, it's about time!!

Doctor Strange's comic debut began humbly and unheralded as a 5 paged story, "Doctor Strange, Master of Black Magic," in "Strange Tales" #110 in 1963. If a comic buyer of that time picked up this particular issue it wasn't for the highly anticipated premiere of a new Marvel hero. The cover of the comic doesn't mention the character but showcases "more fiery action from your favorite super-hero...the Human Torch!" The young firebrand, one quarter member of the "Fantastic Four," had been starring in his own solo adventure series in the comic since issue #101.The first tale of the mystic mage was the last story in the comic and immediately establishes an atmospheric tone for the character and the world and worlds he inhabits. His backdrop is inspired more by the mystery and horror genres than the action/adventure tales that had become the norm in super hero comics. A troubled man seeks out Doctor Strange with a desperate hope that he can help the him conquer his fear of dreaming. The mysterious hero enters the man's sleeping mind with his "astral" or spiritual form and confronts an "ancient foe," Nightmare, where the two battle in the ethereal realm.

Writer Stan Lee scripts a tight short story, depicting Doctor Strange as an all-knowing figure, at least to his 'patient,' but also guided by the wisdom of his teacher, "The Master," an elderly man residing "somewhere in the remote vastness of Asia." Steve Ditko's art, seemingly simple in style is strong in ambiance. With its rich use of shadow work and clear storytelling in its page and panel progression, Mr. Ditko and Mr. Lee create an intriguing character with the promise of more magic to come!

What followed was a true expansion of the then evolving Marvel universe. While Mr. Lee would help develop a wide variety of exciting Marvel super heroes and super villains with his collaboration with the immensely talented comic genius Jack "King" Kirby, his work with Mr. Ditko on Doctor Strange would grow in a different creative direction. Mr. Kirby's bombastic expressionism became the larger than life heart of the so-called "Marvel Age of Comics." But at the same time, Mr. Ditko was illustrating the tales of the seer of sorcery in stories slowly expanding from 5 meager pages to 8 in "The Origin of Dr. Strange" in "Strange Tales" #115, where the reader learns the details of Steven Strange's path to the mystic arts. His vain, self-absorbed life as a talented surgeon. The terrible car accident that fatefully wounded his hands, ending his medical career. His descent into despair. His chance discovery of the mystery of "the Ancient One," and his desperate quest to find him and perhaps be physically healed. Finally, his long journey across the world where a man who had lost material wealth and fame would gain spiritual wealth, moral redemption and a new mission in life as the Master of the Mystic Arts! Under the mentor-ship of the Ancient One, formerly the Master, Doctor Strange would mature even as the page count of his adventures grew, with Mr. Ditko patiently building an artistic legacy that contrasted the mighty work of Mr. Kirby with a vision more surrealistic in scope, but no less wondrous in execution. He was on his way to producing his greatest comic work.

As the tales of Doctor Strange reached 10 pages in length, Mr. Lee and Mr. Ditko's work on the character grew more inspired. The shaman of the supernatural would match his magical wits with his long time nemesis and ex apprentice of the Ancient One, Baron Mordo, in his first 10 paged story, "Mordo Must Not Catch Me!" from "Strange Tales" #125. Then in issues #126 and 127, the creative pair produced one of the true classic stories in the chronicles of Doctor Strange, "The Domain of the Dread Dormammu!" and "Duel with the Dread Dormammu!" This two part tale introduces one of the mystic mage's arch villains, the despotic demon ruler, Dormammu, who would play a major role in many future Doctor Strange stories. They also feature the first appearance of an unnamed character who would become the love of Steven Strange's life, the beautiful, otherworldly woman he would learn is called Clea. Mr. Ditko's imagination was truly unleashed in this adventure. His vision of the Dormammu's dimensional "realm of darkness," was perhaps unlike anything seen in comics before. An unreality not of darkness of sight and sound but of mood, Ditko created a domain of swirling colors, pathways of light that led to other globes of other realities, wisps of shadow dripping freely, unhindered by the laws of gravity, a fragile concept in this universe. When Doctor Strange ultimately battles Dormammu in a battle of magical wills, Mr. Ditko depicts a struggle not of physical force but rather of metaphysical power in which waves of unearthly energy erupt from hands invoking cosmic incantations, where bolts of bedevilment batter barriers of light and bands of mystical malevolence menace the antagonists only to be melted away and conjured again into dramatic and destructive new dangers.

These are some great comics!

But they are just the start of the unparalleled comics to come as Mr. Ditko would plot, co-plot and draw while Mr. Lee would plot and script Doctor Strange's continuously amazing adventures culminating in "a tale so different, so unexpected, that we had to give it the feature cover spot" for the first time in "Strange Tales" #130, for the story ominously titled "The Defeat of Dr. Strange!" This tale would begin an epic multi-issue and multi-dimensional 17 part story arc that would set the Master of Black Magic on a quest to solve the mystery of Eternity, one of the all-time classic concepts realized by Mr. Ditko. This serial adventure would come to be regarded as the artist's crowning achievement for "the House of Ideas."

Also during this creative period, Mr. Ditko and Mr. Lee would combine the adventures of their shared most famous characters, Doctor Strange and Spider-man, in a special crossover tale, "The Wondrous Worlds of Dr. Strange!" released in 1965's "Spider-man Annual" #2. The story's title and plot are symbolic of the impact the master magician would have on any interaction he had within the more earthly world of the Webbed Wallcrawler and the wider world of the Marvel universe. It's a testament to the strength of Doctor Strange as a character and the otherworldly concepts encountered in his own comic series that when he appeared in an annual devoted to a popular character like Spider-man, it is a "Strange Tales" styled story, a magical villain called Xandu that the heroic pair unite to defeat rather than one of Spidey's foes like the Green Goblin or Dr. Octopus. It thus makes their meeting that much more special for Spider-man's regular readers but also highlights the unique qualities of the Doctor Strange character.

This "Omnibus" edition provides comic fans a one volume history of a singular time in the evolution of Marvel Comics. The comic pages and covers reprinted within its stitch-sewn, hardcover binding are reproduced clearly on high quality paper. This tome also includes the original letters pages to select issues of the "Strange Tales" comics, giving contemporary readers the chance to look at how fans of the 1960's were impressed with these stories. As an additional bonus, the volume contains a special art section featuring illustrations created for the classic character over the years and more, including: a Steve Ditko pin-up of Doctor Strange from "Marvel Collectors' Item Classics" #10 (1967), a testimonial by Stan Lee, "Mainly About a Master of the Mystic Arts," taken from the "Origins of Marvel Comics" book from 1974: a rare treat; reproductions of original artwork by Mr. Ditko (!): the splash page to "Let There Be Victory!" from "Strange Tales" #141 (1966): an unfinished pencil sketch by Mr. Ditko of Doctor Strange and the Ancient One: a reprinting of artwork for a Doctor Strange T-shirt, based on artwork from "Strange Tales" #127, and the story, "Duel with the Dread Dormammu," done by Mr. Ditko with Marie Severin: for the completest, covers to selected comics that contained reprints of Doctor Strange's adventures in "Strange Tales," such as: "Marvel Tales (1965, 1970, 1971)," "Marvel Collectors' Item Classics (1966-1969)," "Marvel's Greatest Comics (1969, 1970)," "Giant-Size Marvel Triple Action (1975)," and "Strange Tales" #182-188 (1975, 1976).

In 1984, Marvel Comics published a 4 issue comic called "Doctor Strange Classics," which reprinted "Strange Tales" #130-141, stories from "the quest for Eternity" story arc. A highlight of this short reprint series is the fact that the comics featured wrap-around covers drawn by John Byrne and Al Milgrom done in a style paying homage to Steve Ditko. They also included pin-ups by various artists and a pair of introductions by Stan Lee, and fan favorite writer Roger Stern, respectively. The above content is included in this volume.

This special collection also features painted illustrations for the covers to the "Marvel Masterworks" trade paper back editions devoted to Doctor Strange: Vol. 1 (2010) by Steve Ditko and Dean White, and Vol. 2 (2013) by Steve Ditko and Richard Isanove. It concludes with a reproduction of its cover, a fully painted interpretation of the black magic master by artist Alex Ross. The above mentioned works of art are reprinted unadorned with logos and other text. This book's dust jacket is illustrated by Mr. Ross, while a variant edition showcases a dust jacket reprinting Mr. Ditko's memorable swan song cover to "Strange Tales" #146.

Regretfully, Mr. Ditko would leave Doctor Strange and Marvel Comics behind with "Strange Tales" issue #146 due to creative differences with Stan Lee. But as the stories contained in this special hardcover edition display, Mr. Ditko created a body of imaginative work that would influence generations of comic creators and enrapture countless lovers of the comic book medium.

It is a lasting tribute to his genius.

This very special book comes with my most sincere recommendation.

Marvel's First Epic Masterpiece
By Patrick G. Phillips
Despite so many classic images from Ditko's "Dr Strange" run being seared into my brain through comics osmosis, this is actually the first time that I've actually had the opportunity to read the stories, and man, they did not disappoint. While the first handful of stories are a bit cruder that the later material, you can see Ditko, influenced by surrealists and especially Dali, developing a unique, skewed art style to juxtapose the wild world of magic with the mundane world that lies beside it. There's this wonderful dichotomy of clean, straight, precise lines depicting the normal world contrasted with the circular, wavy, and often amorphous depictions of magic-- this is something that still dominates the depiction of magic in comics (and much of popular culture) fifty years later! This evolution of Ditko's art would hit its peak with the "Search for Eternity", a multipart story that takes up much of this volume, and has more inventive and imaginative moments per page than most comics have in their entire run. In my opinion, "The Search for Eternity" is Marvel's first true epic masterpiece, preceding "The Coming of Galactus" by nearly a year. To be sure, there were unquestionably great Marvel comics before "The Search for Eternity"-- this was, after all, the Marvel Age of Comics-- but they were short affairs (generally one or two issues). "The Search for Eternity" blooms over multiple issues of "Strange Tales", each segment perfectly expanding the scope and stakes of the story. It is, quite frankly, one of the best comics stories ever produced, and unlike many of Silver Age stories, retains its power over the decades because it is so tightly plotted to maximize the reduced page number of the "split book" format-- there's no filler here, everything is essential, and it's astounding how much information Ditko presents on the page.

The extras are nice, but not really as informative as some of the extras in, say, the first "Master of Kung Fu" volume. It's nice to have the letters pages, but many of them refer to the Human Torch stories that shared the "Strange Tales" book, which are not included. It's also interesting to see how polarizing the Dr Strange stories were-- people either seem to love them or hate them, which is odd for a seminal run that has been almost universally praised over the years. I also got a good laugh out of Stan Lee telling us that he loved getting mail about Dr Strange because it would have all these crackpot theories about Strange's alliterative spells being based on actual arcane knowledge of the ancients rather than something he was just making up.

May be the Pinnacle of Steve Ditko's work... and this volume collects the entirety of his Dr. Strange...
By Trollbeard
Other Amazon reviewers, especially L. W. Swint and Anarchy in the US have done great jobs reviewing the contents both of this book and pointing us to reviews of the previous Masterworks volumes, so I won't bother with the awesome contents. Suffice to say that IMO the presentation, the paper quality and slightly-oversized printing of Ditko's Dr. Strange in this book far exceeds the previous incarnations. His outstanding fine line and brush work are crystal-clear, and even the coloring is un-obtrusive and excellent. Thankfully George Bell's (Roussos?) clumsy inking is kept to a minimum and is present only on a handful of issues, so the damage to Ditko's artwork is minimal. What we have here for the most part is raw, unadulterated Ditko pencils, pen and ink, and brush work all at the height of his powers. Awesome. I collected all of these as a kid, but don't think I actually read them all, certainly not at a single sitting, so it's a real experience for me to sit down and read them all at once, and even the mystical story lines hold up very well. If comics get any better than this, please show me. Ditko, at his best, truly is a genius. Incredible stuff.
